Silly question really but wondering how people raised their trotting poles. Seems a bit long winded to faff about getting jump wings out but those pole pods cost a fortune!!! Has anyone tried something more"home-made"

thanks

:)

I got some very strange looks from customers and staff in Poundland when I went through the checkout with a dozen potties! The look on their faces when I told them they were for the horses was priceless :D

I've posted these image before on HHO, found through Google image search, they were originally posted on a Swedish horse forum, easy and homemade, make two "uneven" cubes by taking 4 bits of wood of 4 different heights, and putting them together into a cube shape =

An example of how you can use the "uneven" cubes:

I rest my trotting poles on other poles if that makes sense? I have 4 or 5 poles placed horizontal then rest them on poles either side placed vertically.

Having done this when I was young and foolish, I'd never ever do it again. Young horse tapped the pole, which rolled the full length of the poles it was resting on, and took the horse out by the roots. Not a pleasant experience, and took a very long time to persuade the horse that poles were ok after that.
