How do you rake and level your ménage?

Do you have a special piece of kit or a make do thing?

Also if you rake, do you rake widthways and then lengthways and then do you level with something else?

Or do you never rake but just level?

Thanks

We go round all the edges of ours with a shavings fork, pull down all the built up surface from the sides. We have a wooden pallet attached to a chain which we then drag up and down the school lengthways to harrow and level it out.
Occasionally YO goes in with the tractor and does it properly.

I shout 'Dad level the manège ' and miraculously it's flat within half an hour -- if that doesn't work I ask my 5 yo to ask 'grandad' and that has a zero % failure rate... 5 yo loves driving the tractor!!

I use the harrow every now and again but i tend to use a sheep hurdle every other day. Basically i think anything with a bit of weight should be ak at leveling it unless its really churned up.

Not exactly specifically on topic but for levelling mole hills and spreading dung in the field I use a chain harrows with a heavy railway sleeper dragged behind which keeps the harrows down and leaves everything nice and flat.

I don't have any tractor or quad type machine or a harrow so I rake the edges by hand and then drag a heavy pallet behind my 4x4

I use a landscaping rake (big and wide with blunt prongs - google) to pull in any edges that need it then drag an old gate around behind my pick up, attached by a strong nylon strap or tow rope. I tie a very heavy bit of wood onto the gate to weigh it down. Perfect and free :-) Used same gate combo to harrow field :-)

We have a leveller . which was made for us with removal piece to bring the sides in
We would never harrow ours as it brings the membrane up, we use a rake to bring any inaccessible bits out of the corners

YO's daughter or one of the workmen harrows it . . . sorted :). It is done often enough that there is little to no pile-up at the sides.
