How long can you stay for

Well I have direct access to the whole New Forest with NO roadwork ever. The only thing tht would make it more perfect is easy access to a beach, we can go down to Studland but it is quite a way and you have to organise permits to ride.

About as good as it gets. I have 33 acres of my own land which gives direct access on to open mountain riding (not actually at all steep). No road work whatsoever. You could ride all day and never get to the end of it. Absolutely stunning views as well. I've lived in a lot of different places and never had hacking anywhere near as good. If only I had a horse to enjoy it, lost mine a few months ago and still looking for another one.

I moved Missie in September and must confess I'm missing the fantastic hacking we had at our old place, which was on farmland with lovely wide grass margins and a cross country course, and miles of lanes and bridlepaths. Plus lots of hills for fittening and strengthening young horses. Now it's mainly roads, and no hills whatsoever

although we can get onto the river bank and hack for quite a way down there, and would probably be suitable for cantering as well depending on the ground. Not as good as the last place but a bl***y sight better than my parent's place where when the weather was bad all I had was one lane which drivers used as a rat run and you couldn't even do a loop. After 2 months of road work trying to get the horse fit in January rain going down the lane and back again on my own with no arena to school in I was about to kill myself with boredom!!

i have the choice of miles of road or big ass hills, i wish there was some nice hack on farm land with nice big gallops none of that here

I'm quite fortunate as I moved from a local competition yard to a family run yard where the hacking facilities were far better (plus a better attitude towards hacking!)

We have plenty of National Trust land which we are allowed to hack out on plus some villages and road to use. Loads of mini 'XC Course' and something for all weathers.

Sometimes I get frustrated about the lack of competitions on the yard, but then I keep coming back to the great hacking and turn-out the horses have. Wouldnt change it for the world

Our hacking is fantastic! Apart from a huge network of bridleways, we have lots of horse-friendly farmers who let us ride virtually anywhere (which doesn't mean riding on crops by the way!). So long as we are respectful of crops, young pheasants etc, then we are more of less free to wander! Brilliant!

I am totally spoilt with hacking here.

I only have to do roads if I want to and they are not really bad roads. I have access to miles and miles of forestry, Moorland, Bridleways etc and I am only 15 minutes drive away from the beach.

It's lovely
