How do you refer to your horse?

Micky gets Micky Moo, Gorgeous, Peter Perfect and occasionally you vile manky disgusting.....usually followed by a whimper of dispair.

Collectively they're either fuzzies, beasties or grotlings.

Either babe or little one. Babe because I've known him since the day he was born, although as properly grown up 9 year-old this is probably beneath his dignity now! Little one since her really was a teeny-tiny foal, but he is still the smallest on the yard - a 14.2 cob amongst big warmbloods and Spanish horses!

I'm afraid I'm hopelessly soppy with my elderly Arab, she is any one of "sweet pea", "sweetheart", "sweetie", "baby", "angel", "angel face", "lovely", "gorgeous", "princess" or "my sweet girl". Her field mate also gets "sweetheart" and "sweetie" a lot, but as he's a gelding he also gets "handsome" and/or "trouble" depending on his behaviour. I also call him "Leg" or "Leggy" a lot as an abbreviation of his name (he has a terrible name for a horse).

Asha is ‘ole girl’
Aria - gets shortened to Ar’s
Lily - was donkey , but has now grown into her ears , so it’s little Lil
Finn - handsome
Pip - gorgeous
The best is ... frank , he’s franky wanky ( 3yo nob basically)

15.1 Arab x Welsh is always just referred to as"pony" when talking to anyone about her, when talking to her she is generally princess or pumpkin. Dog is generally referred to as "puppy" even though she is very senior ?

The three are the “girls” and yes on occasion you can hear me sing “here come the girls” on bringing in.

mia can be moo moo, moo bag, moobies (weird) or cow bag

faye can be faystone, little one, or winston, occasionally nut job

red can be reddie teddie, beautiful, princess (maybe you can tell which is the special one!)

Sugar is “madam” or her “ladyship” she’s a lovely horse but does like to have an opinion ? some people at the barn call her shug shug (which I’m not a fan of). She probably thinks her name is also “can you not do that please?” ?

Mine are called collectively “the boys”.

Edward is called Eddy Wardo (Eduardo) Eddly, Eddy Red Mane, the Ginger knobber, the selfish git as I always find he takes first dibs on anything and is always lying down with my old 25yr old watching over him and never the other way around.

My old boy is Sol, Solly Poppins (practically perfect in every way) Solly Pops, Silly Solly Pandy and inexplicably Solly Wolly Bing Bong ?

I usually use something along the lines of 'ahhh, you GIT.' The beauty of this nickname is it is interchangeable and therefore could be used to apply to any of them at any time, depending on who broke the fence/pushed the water buckets over/scratched their bum on the tackroom door and jammed it shut this time.
The ponies are the gremlins.

Individually... Monster, Thug, Little Thug, Handsome, Pretty Girl, Princess (whether that's complimentary or not depends on what she's doing at the time), Troublemaker, Captain/Boss, Chubby, Fluffy, Devil Child and Munchkin.

Arch is noodle, little man, beautiful boy or you utter effing twitstick

Also referred to as fatty mcfluffball, fattus cobbus or cobbus snackus

Coco I tend to call Pops as not find on former. Lou is short for Silouette (spelt like that on passport), she’s got a variety of pet names. Belle as in Lou Lou belle, pork chop is another (no idea why)

Reggie can get called many things, including Reg, Reginald(o), Reggieroo, dickhead (for when he is being especially difficult), pony (special favourite, even at 16.2)
Old Sect D was Kizzee, so Kizzeewizz, Whizzie etc(nutty pony never seemed to stop!), baggage, darling and I'm sure there were many others!

Collectively “the ponies “ or ”the childs” (not the children as those are the human versions)

Burt gets called Bassett more tha Burt ... Henry is “the idiot “ or henners and the Shetland is referred to as moo as moo is my term of endearment for any mare and she’s my only mare atm

the traditional cob is known as Smurf or fluffy depending on if he’s being cheeky or cute

Depends what mood we’re both in ?

but usually it’s mongo (she’s called Tilly) because that’s exactly what she is or prinny. She’s a gelding trapped in a mares body....occasionally gets referred to as Tilly tit too....

I seem to always refer to my boy as Puppy or Pups - I dunno why!

Definitely get referred to as Pony alot - all horses are ponies to me! And of course - Hello Handsome :D:D
