How do you ride through spooks?

Hi all,

Must be the time of year?

My fella's pretty cautious (read Spooky) whilst hacking as a rule - so far we've almost done all the seasons and he's found new pony eating monsters along the way.

Depending on the nature of the 'spook' I usually just ignore it. If he goes giraffe neck when I'll tighten up contact just in case he goes for a bolt. I'll only kick him along if he's being really stupid - i've known him for a year now which helps me to know how he'll react to most things.

But as I learned the other week nothing stops him if he is frightened (green wrapped haylege in a field ).

I've always let my horse look at what it is as I don't want her to spook at it every time! then just push her on passed and tell her shes brave haha!

but most of the time the spooks come at full speed gallop and she jumps to one side! so by the time she's done it i cant really do anything about it! haha
