How do you stop a prolite multi riser pad from slipping

We had the saddle fitter come out, and she prescribed the multi riser to replace the horse's topline, the TB is 24 and lacking on topline, the saddle looks and sits lovely now with the riser, but it moves back a bit in walk and the minute you canter it flies outt he back! We have tried it with thin polypad and with a numnah with tabs, nothing improves it.

My prolites don't move at all, how odd. I have a sway back riser (nothing in the pockets atm though), and a girth sleeve, and they stay absolutely put.

Are you starting off with it quite far forward? I use the normal prolite and it has to be pulled forward enough or it will hang out the back, I also find the numnah straps that go on the girth have to be on tight to stop the numnah going back and taking the prolite with it if you know what I mean.

I'd never had this trouble before until I started using it on a mare we have on loan. I used a non slip pad between it and the saddlecloth in the end

Eta I think it was also caused by it being slightly too padded out at the front. I used thinner shims and it stopped happening. I think I hadn't realised how much the horse had developed

I went to a craft shop and got some press studs. Put half on the Prolite and other on my numnah and studded them together. Worked a treat. Still have my Prolite pad I never use with the studs attached :)

Funny I emailed Prolite to ask why they don't make a pocketed numnah for them and they told me they don't move  I put it on then the numnah on top and that stops it moving most of the time.

This has happened to me (and the numnah has gone with it as well). It only happens sometimes though and at the moment it keeps happening but we put the front pads in it to lift the saddle a little at the front. I'll take the front pads out tonight and use it "au naturel" and hopefully it won't shift. Always faintly embarassing having an equine wardrobe malfunction during a lesson...

Ha ha I had the same wardrobe malfunction during my lesson last week with the pro lite over a polypad! Whole thing flew out the back. I find its better with a saddle cloth with ties and pad pulled as far forward as poss. I really don't know why Pro lite don't put ties on the pad as more often then not they move, especially if you don't like to winch the girth up extra tight.
