I have lots of different lengths of white electric fencing tape that I store when not in use but I need a method of storing them and of visually identifying the length of them. How do you do it?
I use plastic feed bags, poke a small hole in the bottom and thread one end of tape through, then coil in the tape into the bag intil you reach the end poking out the top. Tie up the neck of the bag, sometimes I then tie the two ends together to stop them going back into the bags.
You never get yout tape in a tangle and when you reuse you just pull out as much as you want then tie the bag to a post, its insulated in the bag so won't short out.
The plastic bag idea is excellent - we try to wind ours around the reels but it never works, and always manages to get tangled. The shorter sections are just looped up and its luck of the draw if you get the right one.
I use plastic hose reels. Couldn't manage without them.
I have sooo much white tape around my place. It's the only thing that keeps my two in the field!
