How do you tack up?

I always used to put bridle on first then saddle, then boots.

But.. I have a slightly cold backed horse now, so its always saddle first, boots, then bridle. Then while hes still munching on a haynet i get my hat and gloves on.

Always groom him and boot him up. Saddle first as he has a wonderful habit of fiddling with his head and has broken his bridle umpteen times catching it on stable doors etc. Put my boots, hat. chaps etc on the bridle and away!!

Already got my hat on when drive to field. Bridle first as I catch horse from field with it. Light groom of saddle area. Saddle up. Boots if legs not too muddy. Put my gloves on. Climb on and off.

I do boots, then bridle then saddle. Was always taught to put the bride on first in case the horse bolts or something - although i always thought that a saddle in that case woul dbe safer as no reins, but then nothing to catch it with.

I just do the boots first as he can sometimes have a flap about them, so he gets to stamp his feet and relax a bit.

Saddle first then I get myself ready, put my chaps and hat on etc then I put his bridle on and then go.
I worked for a lady that always tacked up like this as she hated them being tied up with their bridles on!
