how do you talk to your dog?

i caught myself yesterday saying "back,back" and "walk on" to the puppy!

just wondering if anyone else speaks to their dog the same as to their horses?

I caught myself telling the cat to "trot on" when she was dawdling in front of me !!

I talk to my dog as if she has three brain cells. She has yet to demonstrate that she has any more than that!

Our dog is trained on horse commands and we used to lunge him!

I hold entire conversations with min eon my slightly 'dippy' days but I do click at her like you would a horse..and she does recognise it as a command to speed up

ME TOO, i work night shift on my own for 15 hours.....I talk to my 2 dogs all night long!!!!

i talk to my kids the same way i talk to the dogs lmao, the kids just think i spend to much time with the dogs. i have to very trying teen danes.

We have full conversations with BD, and then make up her replies in her special voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it is the funny farm for us

Sooty we always say BD has only 2 brain cells (very disturbed at the moment) - so your's has one more than ours

However I must admit I have, like I do with the horse, full blown conversations with the dogs!!!
