Right now Ive been on two hunts, and am addicted, Im going to buy a proper stock rather then my ready tied one. So how the ruddy hell do you tie one?????
Anyone know a website that has pictures? Or can tell me step by step?

right... step by step instructions....
1) create a loop with the stock but passing the end without the hole in, through the hole in the other end.
2) put the loop over your head and attach the centre button hole to the button at the Front of your stock shirt.
3) pull both ends round to the front, so that you have an end on each side and tighten until snug.
4) pass the right end over the left and then under and up the gap, like a single knot.
5) tighten until snug, then adjust it so the top bit is square under your chin by pulling the top bit slightly back to the right slightly and the bottom part to the left slightly.
6) pass the top part to the right then under and up the gap (like another single knot) and tighten.
7) straighten up both ends and the centre so that you have a square knot, then fold the ends across in a cross
8) pin the cross to the knot.
9) stand back and admire. :grin:

stand in front of a mirror so you can see what you're doing.
with practice you'lll be able to do it in the half reflection you get in a landrover window!!

I've managed to master as far as the very last step where you get the pretty ending. Mine ends up a mangled looking heap, hence why i usually get the YO to do it

Very simple really. Button hole onto the button on front of hunting shirt. Around the back and through the hole. Pull as tight as bearable. Then Left over Right and pull tight - then Right over Left - and the same. Basically a Reef Knot. Sort out the knot so that is is totally vertical and then cross over the ties. Secure with your (plain) Stock Pin, then pull both ends cross/sideways and secure with Safety Pins so that nothing can move. Unless you are a Master or Hunt Staff (Vertically) - Stock Pins should be inserted Horizontally.
