How do you travel your horse in a horsebox?

As I am new to horsebox ownership I am very interested to here how and where other people travel their horses. When I have just one I tend to travel her in the middle partition, but not sure what I would do if I had two... would I travel one nearest the cab and one in the middle, or one in the middle and one at the back near the ramp???

Also, are your partitions on an angle backwards or are the parallel to the ramp?

We always travel Duke nearest the cab but if we take someone else we might leave a space between them (4 horse lorry) as Duke likes to lick his new friend

I was always told to put the heaviest nearest the cab and ditto if you are only travelling one.

Horsebox is partitioned herringbone. I always try to distribute weight evenly over the back axle as I know the balance (front/rear axle loads) of the lorry and dont want any issues with those nice people from VOSA and their delightful weigh bridges.

Placing a single horse forward of the rear axle on most 7.5ton lorries is likely to push the front axle load beyond its plated limit.

If I'm traveling one it goes in the middle space (box is stalled for 3), if I'm trveling 2 they go int he middle and next to the ramp (usually because I've got a skip etc in the space next to the living).

Sideways on. Recently I put him in the central section, simply because he had destroyed the rubber matting in the front 1. Ever considerate, he destroyed the matting in the central section too (in 1 30 min journey), so now it doesn't matter!
