Stupid question, but I ned to be more specific in my laminitic horses feeding and kitchen scales can't take the volume and bathroom ones aren't accurate enough at low weights, so do you use a hanging weighing thing - and where can you get them?

I have a spring scale - hanging thing, and weigh my hay nets. I also weigh a few bales using my barhroom scales - I weigh my self, then get on with a bale. Once ypou weigh a few from the same batch, then know how many sections the bale has you can then guestimate your hay nets abit more easily.

I got my haynet weigher thingy from Robinsond or rideaway.

I use electronic luggage scales - for weighing suitcases when you go on flights! They are very accurate, you can see the LED display well even if it is dark and dingy lighting, and you just fill the haynet, clip on the strap and hold it up to read the display.

My sharer brought down a proper brass weighing scale, but I find the luggage scales much easier to use.

Just a bog standard small spring balance I got from the local tack shop for about a fiver I think - you can get bigger ones too. And as I understand it you weigh dry weight rather than dampened or soaked hay weight.
