How do your eventers come out of the season?

She's only 14.2 and I am 5'7 so this could be a bit adventurous.

thats hilarious, one of my babies is 14 hands and in 5'6! Its such a different feel to jumping horses!! My little mare pings jumps, but im so paranoid about unbalancing her!

Had a really on and off season, with me having an accident right in the middle of it!
Young horse did a couple of late summer hunter trials and is now going to do arena eventing, dressage, show jumping and working hunter over winter and try and get her fat off as spent September showing her as a small hunter so defiently doesnt look like an event horse at the moment!
I was thinking the same about the other horse though, he has gone a bit quiet and flat. He is 8 and has done his first proper season, he was feeling great at his last event in September but fell on the flat in the show jumping  and now his owner is taking to Aston so its keeping him ticking over until the end of the month. He is an awarkard so and so, so I cant do too much dresage as he hates it so has been doing a lot of hacking. He is still happy and willing but I persinally think after Aston a month off will do him the world of good.

Terribly! We've had a few runs at 80 over the summer, no huge success but he'd started to give me a great feeling XC. Then had a slippery (under-studded) and generally confidence-knocking E at Keysoe last month. Had hoped to step up for the UA event there the weekend just gone but stuck with the 80 for a confidence-boosting run and ended up with an E in the SJ and parting ways, knocking myself out and scaring the crap out of my horse at fence 5 on the XC. Absolutely gutted, feeling pretty useless and torn between booking every clinic available over winter and just admitting defeat :(
