How does a grackle work (excuse my ignorance!)

As said in my post yesterday, I am investing in a flash for Wonka. Now I'm not intending to put him in a grackle, but was just rather curious as to what a grackle does and what kind of horse you would use it on as I have no idea!

same as flash only controls the jaw aswell so they cant cross it or grab the bit etc.

I use one on T as he crosses his jaw and sometimes sticks his tounge out, sticks his head in the air and p****s off! As you know, he learns very quickly and picked up that this was a great way of b***ering off with me quite quickly when hunting or sometimes when jumping.
I used to use a flash on him but that will stop them from opening their mouth, not crossing their jaw, plus it's easier for them to breath with a grackle as it doesn't sit across their nostrils. T looks quite natty in his, too!
