Lastly do i look an alright size on him? Hes only 15HH and quite fine I'm 5.4 and i do worry, my last boy was 16.3HH

Before anyone shouts as i know there is very mixed views yes i'm in draw rains but my instructor was there and i would never do it with out her!!!!
 
I think he looks like a very nice lad, I love the picture where he got three legs!!! classic lol. You dont look to big on him at all. since he holds himself well he's making himself look bigger than 15hh.

What breed is he by the way??
 
he looks like an arab or arab x to me, he is looking lovely.
I'm never sure about draw reins either and only use them when my instructor is there, my lad seems to benefit from the odd session with them. he looks the same shape as mine too, needing more muscle on back end and less under neck, its taking me ages with mine, he's reluctant to take up contact when his headshaking is bad. Hoping i'll be able to do more this winter, weather permitting

I think he looks great! He looks so much like my sisters pony - he's TB x welsh but i think only his feet are welsh, everything else is TB!!!!!!!
 
Thanks i'm getting paranoid hes the smallest by far on the yard and thats with 40 horses all except the foals, but some of the one year olds and most of the two year olds are bigger then him. Bless

a little arab X, but more arab then anything else, but just enough of something else i think welsh or pony? to make him a bit sturder and grow a winter coat like you have never seen lol. Though that may be my fault he had never been on grass befor he met me and i kicked him out 24/7 opps !!!
 
poppymoo can i join that club, i always say i went from a titanic to a pocket rocket, and my god he's a rocket which turns on a six pence.

What yours oliver_twist full or cross i may be wrong about the arab x he may be pure?? he has two brandings on his bum and flank which arn't freeze marks but no one i know has ever seen anythink like them before??

Have you got to do lots of hill work in the correct out line too!
My last lesson was all about slowing down his paces and standing still not letting him rush. He even did his first rear in three years when being asked to stand still.
 
Sonic1704 - mine is a purebred. They sound very similar mine too likes to create when made to stand still.
I've never heard of brands like that either?
My lad is doing lots of trotting up our hills, but i have a feeling i may need to get him some front shoes on if i am to carry on, he always seems so good barefoot but the other night he bothered over gravel for the first time ever...
Do you know any of his breeding history at all? is he registered with AHS?

mine barefoot too, he not had shoes for two years, partly because he's a b**** and other half refuses to do him. But as i'm starting to compete he's deciding if he'll at least put front shoes on if there needed. Is it bad i don't miss the cost lol, yer he's been abit feely its not been to good this summer but its the ground and rain, dry the mosit lots of horses arn't coping even with shoes.

I haven't got a clue about the brands, i keep meaning to take pictures and post them to ask if any one else has seen anything like them, it would be nice to think he was a little bit special to the rest of the world too lol. For his history it could be anything i bought him from a ex-friend who was a small dealer who got him from a larger dealer. He's been ruined in the past, my only guess is hes been a kids and they jumped and raced him into the ground, beating the crap out of him when hes not preforemed.
