Well I bit the bullet, and hogged the boy! His mane was far too thick to plait - remember the golf ball plaits?- and he hated having it pulled or even raked, so I just chopped it off rather than upset/hurt him. My heart was in my mouth the whole time I was clipping it off, but I think it rather suits him! What do you think? We're preparing for our first show of the season, its a week tomorrow, we'll be doing Inhand cob type, Inhand coloured and possibly Inhand open youngstock if he's not too tired.
(Do excuse his grubby legs - he lives out and I didn't want to bath him for no reason)

Any suggestions/CC welcome! I'm working on getting his coat out, which is why he looks a bit dull - he's very shiny when his summer coat is through! x

Thanks everyone =D
What do you think of him condition-wise? He was looking a bit ribby coming out of winter, so I have kept on with the fast fibre, and he's picked up again nicely. I think he looks about right at the minute, but obviously I'm biased, and as he stands next to my fat little cob, my perspective can be a bit skewed!

I'll try and find a pic of him when I first got him - he was a scruffy little beggar!
