how easy is it to take the horsebox off the chassis!

How easy is it to remove a horse-box back off of the cab/chassis. I have an old bedford tk needing work, which has a great horse/living area and would like to know how easy/hard it is to transfer the horse/living area to a new chassis - can anyone helo?
 
Very easy or very hard. It depends how coachbuilt the box was. It is slightly scary when you remove a body and see how little there is of a lorry chasis.

This is my sisters, currently hanging from the rafters of our indoor shool. All they need to do is drive the other lorry underneath it and bolt it on. This body did have a cut thru cab, it is a really nice body but the cab on the chasis needed to much welding.

If the container was built as a seperate container rather than a coachbuilt container then it is just a matter of undoing the U braces that hold the container to the chassis, propping up the container and driving the chassis cab away.

However you will then need to find another chassis cab on which it will fit on. If it is another Bedford then easy but anything else and you may need to do some serious work to the container including rebuilding the luton to get a snug fit.
 
The luton can be an issue as the bedford cab is lower than more modern chassis and they vary in height so would need altering also make sure wheelbase is the same and you may lose tilt cab facility on newer chassis as TK s didnt tilt
