At long last have managed to get shoes back on my WB Dexter (after now sacked farrier screwed his feet up) he's been off for about 6 weeks, so couldn't wait to go out for a hack yesterday evening on him.
Off we potter with a friend, having a good old natter as we go, long reins not really paying much attention to whats going on just chilled out and relaxed. 2 young lads further down country lane having a bit of car trouble, see 2 strapping great horses coming down the road and stand as far into the hedge on the otherside of the road as possible, next thing I know Dexter has made a beeline for one of them because he was eating a packet of crisps Honestly I ask you - does he have to go round begging for food, anyone would think he's starved ! I know he's on a diet at the moment, but to try and steal a total strangers bag of crisps is well just a touch embarassing the poor lad was terrified !

My old horse once nicked a hot cross bun through a car window, and the pony we have now mugs people who come into the field to pick blackberries. I DON'T STARVE MY HORSES...honestly!

I used to work at a riding school and we were having some work done on a pylon in the field. Foreman of the job came into the office asking if someone could go up and give the guys a hand as the horses were being very nosy. So I shot off with images of a broken fence around the worksite and squashed electricians. Got there to discover a transit van inside the work area surrounded by horses. Completely surrounded! They were all leaning on the fence and it was creaking rather alarmingly! I shooed the horses off and found three terrified men inside the van. Apparently they were eating lunch in the van and the crisp packet and roll bag rustling attracted all the horses over. Poor guys were convinced if any of them got out the horses would take down the fence, fly the 4ft working space and kill them!! Poor lads! And very well fed riding school horses, just greedy chancers!
