Murphy is kept about 15-25 minutes away from me. 15 minutes after work as I just pop on the m4 and get off two junctions down. Sometimes I think I wish i could pick the yard up and make it closer, but Im happy there and so is Murph - thats the main thing. x
The nearest paddock gate is about 20' from the back door, absolute bliss.
Before, the yard was a mile away, 15 minute bimble down a footpath or 5 minutes on the bike.
The place where I keep Ali (and used to keep Castle all the time) is 15 minutes away, Castle's on a little holiday at the moment about an hour and a half away.
Mine is .48 of a mile away on foot or 1mile by car!!! And I can hear him shout at home when his field mate is being ridden and he's been left behind!!! But he's not at home, can't get much closer though can I!!!! Takes 5 mins slow walk and same breaking all the speed limits in car!!!
My stables are at the bottom of my garden and my field is outside my front room window..
Such a shame I have two stables, two acres and only one horsey!

About 7 minutes drive although if rush hour or a weekend can take 10-15. I used to live a little closer and now it annoys me being that few minutes further. I live on the other side of a town so thats the killer getting through that. My old house i was able to cycle! (ok i did it about twice but the thought was there)! ;0)
Currently the stables at about 25 yards away, field maybe 100 yards! But we will be moving in the next 6 months, as this is just a rented cottage on my parent's farm. Over the years I have done up to 30/40 mins each way to yards. I wouldn't do it again I have to say, and will now choose where we live according to where the horses are! Good job my husband is just as devoted to his horse as I am mine....
