How far away is your yard to your home?

Just moved from 9 miles away and great hacking to 2 1/2 miles away and rubbish hacking. Now in at night so need 2 trips a day, previously our 24/7 so one trip was sufficient. It's still less miles overall though, and reachable by bicycle now if I have to.

7.5 miles, take between 15 to 20 mins, but I only go once a day.

Before that I was stabled 15 miles away and it took 30-40 minutes.

...There are NO decent yards very close to where I live!!! But 7.5 miles is pretty good! :D

From my backdoor :

Another one who can step out the back door, through the gates, into the yard :)

It's bliss, especially after in the dim and distant past having to keep mine at livery and having to be polite to YO's you frankly wouldn't give the time of day if you didn't have to keep your horse somewhere - and knew that if you didn't you'd be out on your ear with your horse on a headcollar munching on some grass verge somewhere.

About 4 miles, can take anything from less than 10minutes to going on half an hour to get there or home again. Depends what traffic through town is like. It's the only bad thing about it. All the others yards I've been on have been the other direction from home so no going through town as we live right on the edge.

A mile by car (or bicycle) by road and about half a mile as the crow flies but if I went cross country I'd have to cross crops, a couple of dykes and some barbed wire and wouldn't be popular with the neighbouring farmers!

By car it takes me 9 mins one-way. Distance is just under 3 miles door to door but half of its down a twisty narrow lane which dramatically slows progress in the car!

a ten minute walk, fifteen minute tube journey, ten minutes bus and five minute walk. If I get the timings right I can do it in 35 minutes. Would be 17 miles and 25 to 30 minutes by car if I drove.
