i know lots of people tend to put the saddle to far forward so was wondering if anyone has a good pic of just where to place the saddle,mostly on high withered horses

Good guide is to slide back as GW says into a good comfy position, you then want a nice hands breadth behind the shoulder to allow free movement and draw an imaginary line up from the last rib, saddle (cantle) should not extend past the last rib.
Well, I've just had a new saddle fitted to my boy who has HUGE shoulders! The saddle fitter said I was to place the saddle so that the point straps are level with the muscle behind his shoulder.

Not the best pics as in the first one the saddle is quite forward cut, in the second his wither is a bit obscured by big fluffy numnahs! Hope they help though
