How far do you travel to your stables?

As title says really
Mine is four miles away but down all country roads and is quite lethal, especially with all that snow last year!!!

5 miles but mostly main roads and one wee village road. He's out 24/7 too all year which helps.
Last year we were at a yard that was 11 miles each way and they had to be stabled at night in the winter which I found knackering on top of my commute to work.

That's the long route.

Direct route about 40'.

Often I actually have to dig my way there to get the plow to clear the tracks to paddocks, I frequently have to dig my way out of the house which is why I have a snow shovel in my hallway! Nearest paddock is 15'.

If I had to travel off my own property I wouldn't have horses at all.

Just under 3 miles to mine.
Takes me maybe 5 minutes?

I haven't been there through a full winter yet so will be interesting to see if I can get there in the snow as its quite a long steep hill up to it. May have to walk up.

About three miles, takes about 5 minutes, not great to get to in the snow, as the road isn't gritted.

Sooooo jealous of those who have their horses practically living in thier kitchen....don't think my four would fit in the flat....mind you that is why i live in a flat can't afford anything else with four beasts to feed!!!

10 minutes by car. We go up however often required, she is on DIY.

Few years back it was 1.5 hours each way by train and bus (when I lived and worked in London)... she was on livery Mon - Fri so I only had to go up once a day and ride after work

Currently about 7 minutes but moving to yard further away in a few weeks. Takes 15/20 mins. Several route options - pretty villagey way or slightly less pretty way with a dual carriageway for part of so would def be cleared!
Horse will be on assisted diy so mornings are covered!

15 miles - can take anything from 25 minutes to over an hour and the record being 1 hour 45 minutes when London was jammed solid due to strikes.

Since being very ill, I now have them on share two days a week and also livery one day a week and will keep that way as it gives me some time to do other things than work, go to the yard and sleep.

I could keep them a mile away, but no grass t/o, just school t/o and I personally would not like to keep my horses like that. Where they are now is a bit of a journey, but good t/o which is very important to me.

If the weather turns very bad, my YO is fantastic and will do full livery for me at short notice and keep doing them until the roads are clear. I also have mornings done as it is cheaper to pay for them to be fed and t/o than the cost of the petrol to do 30 miles.

About 20 miles which takes about 30 minutes, only go once a day as he on oart livery. Is on my way to work so combine it with work 3 days a week x

it used to be about 20 steps, but now its 15 miles (in about 10-20 mins). But it's me that moved (when OH and I got married) not him. would love to have him closer, but the fuel is cheaper than any livery would be compared to keeping him at home

miss having him on the doorstep sooooo much
