if you have looked at Heros you could check out www.equinerescueandrehoming.info they often have some nice types if you don't mind a bit of work and the donation and travel is less then £1000

I bought my Welsh D for £800 unbroken and she was the best pony. Super in every way. Was a private sale and was just lucky I was the first one to see her and put down the deposit

You just have to keep an eye out, there are good horses out there for reasonable prices.
$100 (at todays rate = approx 63 GBP) for this 3 year old, 14.1h.
Well actually, originally she cost me nothing to buy as I bred her, but I bought her back again recently,by the same stallion as the palomino colt.
$200 the pair for the weanlings in the right hand signature.
Nothing for this:
