Currently 15 miles away but we're moving house so they will be at home soon during the summer, and kept at a livery yard about 10 mins away during the winter!
Next village, guessing about 2/3 miles away? Takes just over 5 mins in car on fast road, would take a while to walk it as would have to use back lanes, no pavement on said fast road..
The yard is right outside the kitchen door Mind you I echo Pastie2's comment about slippers when icey. (Sister managed to break ankle putting horse out while sister was wearing sandals, too easy to just nip out when they are at home!)
10 miles from home, but across the road from where I work Mon-Fri. Bit of a pain at the weekend but the farm is wonderful and my horse loves it there.
It's great to pop over and see him at lunchtimes too!
8 miles away takes about 10 mins by car. I had the opportunity to keep her right opposite my house but with no facilities and no turnout in wet weather so difficult choice but I'd rather drive a bit than have a miserable horse
about 15 mins from home but about half hour from work as home is between yard and work. There are yards far closer but would rather travel for a good one.
13miles from home. Wish it was closer but there isnt anywhere with good facilities near home. Takes about 15-20 mins depending on if I get stuck behind anyone going slow!
At the end of the garden.
After years in livery yards I had finally had enough and brought them home. It is so much easier but the down side is I never get a day off.
6 miles, takes about 15 mins in the car. I did have him much closer to home once but the facilities weren't enough for him and I adore my yard, I wouldn't change.... unless I could have him at home of course!
