How far from home do you keep your horses?

19 miles...76 miles a day!!!

I pass 4 yards on the way to mine but he's on the best yard in the area so it's worth the extra time listening to radio 2!!!

mine are approx 3 miles from home at my own stables, had them in livery bout 5 and three quarter miles away from home upto a few years ago but it was down the worst roads ever and it wasn't a very good yard with poor hacking so decided to build own place 5 mins from beach and its still a work in prgress but love it for hacking, horsey neighbours are great cos there are loads of em. three of our neighbours have arenas and one indoor which they let us use for free, beach, quiet roads... we are so spoilt!

3.4 miles away but its a lovely summer walk or excuse to get the bike out

If I have my way next year they will be in a field very close to home me hopes

4.5 Miles ... takes about 10 minutes from my home, but is very close to my daughters school so I drop the girls off at school (in the week) and it's 2 minutes from there. I would love to have them at home but we don't have the land ...

23 miles, some motorway but most the pretty way all across the New Forest. A long way but worth it for the location alone.

15 miles - but worth it for a number of reasons:
1. Mum lives 2 minutes walk away and babysits for me whilst I ride
2. Horse is kept at an old friend's house and she keeps a close eye on him all the time - and feeds on a morning for me
3. I can hack to three competition venues within 30 minutes - great when transport is hit and miss
4. No yard politics or bitching
