He's based at a clinic 20mins drive away, but is usually out on the road in our area. He's an equine specialist who has five of his own horses so understands from both a professional and personal point of view. I can't rate him highly enough tbh.
Vet lives at yard (is her Fathers farm!) Her practise is quite a way away though but handy for out of hours!
Local vets with horse seciallists 2 min car & also therapy centre with operating room 2 minutes away!
Head horse vet use to loan ponies from our yard for his kids so we have a great relationship with them!
My vet is the furthest away, I've had him out for an emergency before when my horse coliced, it took about half an hour from call to him driving onto the yard, it was the longest half hour of my life!
2mins away by car, about a 40min hack as we have to go across country. It's a specialist equine practice with an operating room, exam rooms and an x-ray/scan room. They're fab, one of the vets there is the GB young riders team vet!
15 - 20 mins depending on traffic, and they are equine specialists, they are part of a big group and used to deal with all large livestock but they have just branched off so that 4 vets deal solely with horses
I currently use an equine specialist practice which is 30-35minutes away, which has the full works in terms of theatre etc.
The thing is I am wanting to change, but other equine specialists are just too far away really
We use an equine practice which is just over 20 miles away. There is a vet practice five miles away, and they do treat horses, but we prefer the specilised one.
Normal trip is a half hour in the trailer, proper equine vets. I have numbers for a few others in the locality in case of emergency but there isn't anyone closer really.
About 16 miles away. It is a mixed practice but quite a big equine department, and cover a lot of local studs and racecourses so very experienced with horses.
less than five mins drive- around 20 mins walk
although they still charge £30 call out and had a letter last week saying it would increase from 1st july!
is equine speacialist
more like 40 - 50 mins away, just hope that there is a vet our way if we had an emergency. Touch wood never had too, hate living in Norfolk sometimes it really is the back of beyond
We did use a specialist vet for years but have now changed to a different vet. The specialist vet was about 20 miles away, the new ones only about 5 miles and to be honest seem to be better with the horses.
Lost faith in the specialist ones when they said two ponies had laminitis and neither one had it. The owners were very angry. Its easy to make a mistake, we all do it but two in the same yard on the same day.........
