How far would you go for that perfect horse? Do you look within your home county, neighbouring areas, anywhere in the country, abroad? Does the horse of transport come into the decision?

I could not ever see me looking outside the UK. Ideally I would be searching within a few hours of where I live at most. I love our native breeds so this should not be such a problem for me

Hi Alphekka, I'm also in Cumbria. I'd go anywhere in the country if I'd asked the right questions and the horse sounded like what I wanted and was the right price. It helps, obviously if it's near home, but I would rather go further to get something that's right for me, than get something cos it's on the doorstep and it not be really what I wanted.

Mine is coming on Thursday from just over 200 miles away. Was also considering importing from Denmark
