Beastie lived a good 45 mins from me (but let's face it she was worth it

) and Cindy puppy was about 20/25 mins. Can't remember where Tina and Windsor were bred.

A guy a few doors down from me is not long back from Wales were he has bought a cocker to be a gundog (not sure if it's a bitch or dog or whether it's already trained etc)

I would be willing to travel to the mainland for a good dog (I plan on getting a labrador bitch to work and breed from) and I would also be willing to go to the mainland to find a good stud dog.

I have 8 dogs! Well actually i have 2 and my dad has 6! All working dogs (well apart from the jack russell and our retired springer!

) Most of ours were bred locally altho i know we would be more than happy to travel for the right dog!!

The people who bred my dog lived next door to the yard I was on at the time

TBH I'm more likely to visit the local rescue center - myBiL gets all his dogs from there and they have all made excellent working dogs.

we travelled 4 hours to Wales to get our pup... no fancy breeding background or reason as she was a rescue. However after seeing pics, hearing her story and talking with the rescue centre we had to have her.

Well worth the 8 hour round trip

. I wouldn't give her up for the world.

We went to Peterborough for our beloved Holly (RIP my darling) She was a Rottie and the trip was 4 hours. Poor little love threw up all the way home!!

Millie was a 2 hour drive away, and Lexi was an hour and a half away.
The litter of pups that i bred 2 years ago, non when local, they went to birmingham, liverpool and hampshire to name a few.
If its what you want i don't think the travel times come into it at all.

We were 5hrs!!(So 10hrs in total)
But my goodness...he's worth it!
He travelled really really well though, only sick once.

45 mins!! You're slacking Missy... lol

I travelled a near 10 round trip to pick up my first Inuit and that was the closest breeder.

We've had people from the Isle of Mann, Essex and Sheffield for pups so its proven people will travel if it's really what they want.

Furthest I've actually travelled for a dog is 25 miles, but that was purely down to luck that I found a pup that close (I wanted a fairly rare breed). I was willing to travel further for the right dog, of course.

Furthest I have travelled to get a pup is about 3.5 hours, to Wiltshire, for a Lancashire heeler (bizarrely, as Lancashire would have been a lot nearer!). I am hopefully having a puppy soon (litter due next week) from a bitch who travelled to Germany to be mated, does that count?!

Took us about 4.5hr to get to Bes, but she travelled even further as her fosterer's had brought her down from scotland to a halfway point so we could collect her.

Dom was only about 40 mins away, we were only supposed to be fostering him as we were local!

In my OH's words it took 20 yrs (the time he waited to move out of his mum and dad's so he could get his own dog!!!)

3 hour boat trip, (plus check in time of 1 hour), 4 hour drive, overnight stay, another 2 hours, back 4 hours , the an hour check in again and 3 1/3 (boat was going slow) and then 10 more minutes to get home! all in all took best part of a day and a half!

Mainly i think she is worth it!

I travelled from East Yorkshire to Inverness to collect my daughters dog then went back to get mine! I'd do it again too, hell of a drive but our boys and girls were worth it. All rescue dogs too!

My white bitch pup I got from Hereford (I live in Mid Glam) and my black and tan I got from the valleys (he's a valley BOI!!) So I travelled quite far actually, but I was specific in what I wanted.

They are German Shepherds SM. Luckily it wasn't me making the journey, the bitch belongs to a friend. The dog he used was Ole v Fichtenschlag, if you google the name you will find a pic. Keep your fingers crossed for me the bitch produces lots of girls

London to Leeds to collect my British Bull dog puppy. He cried all the way home but he's very happy now. Love him love him love him, everyone should have a bull dog in their lives.
