We looked at 23 when we were searching for Ellie. The furthest was in Essex, about 350 miles away! But if you add all the others - still not local - I would say we travelled a fair few thousand miles to find her.
And guess what? The little bugger was on our doorstep the whole time, 2 miles up the road!!!
I travelled about 3 hours to see the last one (who I bought). It depends really. Id probably travel the whole of Scotland for one and possibly England if I really thought the horse would be perfect. I bought a horse from Wales but I didnt actually see more than a DVD of it!!
I would probably go up to about 100 miles although I think if I wasn't having any luck then I'd probably go anywhere in the UK!
Having said that, I found Jerry at a dealer's yard less than 1/2 a mile away from home!
I was planning on going to go to Europe with my trainer if I didn't find one here as I was going to be really picky and not settle for anything less than my ideal. Started off looking close to home and is always the way have fallen in love with one already, about 70 miles away. He is not EXACTLY what I had in mind, but I thought I could go on looking forever and I really miss riding at the moment lol.
i would travel anywhere in the uk
i travelled from pembrokeshire up to huddersfield to find my beast i have at the moment but we went all the way up the carslie to look at one
We drove 801 mile round trip two weekends ago to see a pony that was lame when trotted up in hand.. However, would travel the same distance again if I thought it might be the right one.
