but in fairness i think top speed of tb is bout 40mph. so a fast non racer tb type be round 35 at guess

you considering riding your horse to work, the way fuel prices are going!?lol

I have Quarter Horses so I know a bit more about their speed and that they are capable of running at around 50mph.

TB's can run at 40mph and it would totally depend on a number of factors as to how fast your horse could run, and over what distance would have a bearing.

I always thought TB's galloped at 45mph?

We had a mile gallop at my old yard and I took my ex racehorse up there and timed him, he did it in 1m33 which is equal to 45mph isn't it? unless my maths is very bad of course!

Hey thanks everyone, it was just that a girl on my yard and her 14hh pony- admittedly speedy pony said that today she galloped him alongside her dads landrover and she did 45mph- i thought this was surely a bit far fetched!
As for riding to work, what a fantastic idea unfortunatly my horse does not do being alone and would never agree to spending the day parked outside!! lol never mind

Oh no maths please

, I'm too old for that

.

I just know that Quarter Horses clock the fastest speeds in the world, all the other breeds can't do these speeds.
