I have not been convinced that my girls back has been all that great for a while. Booked back lady, who then reshedules. Anyway today was the day, and Ru was a total star. I knew I was in for trouble when the backlady made that "oh god" noise.

My poor horse, no wonder she had a major lack of performance and was bucking, ...... her back was "out"

, her pelvis was well and truely "out"

and even her ribs were "out"

. She was described as a total car wreck, but at no point during her treatment was she grumpy, infact we all got a grooming and a kiss and a cuddle.

We have out suspicions on how we ended up like this, but it still doesn't help.

Because it was so bad we have some excercises and we are looking to having another session at the end of January.

Sounds silly but I am so glad that I listened to my horse and got her checked but I do feel guilty that it took a while

Pelvis had dropped on the left, various vertebrae were affected and her ribs on the left were "out"..... I can't remember the actual term used

No no nothing like that. Just think it sounds really serious and not sure I woulda been happy just being given exercises?! Poor you, poor ponio =[

Good luck with the exercises, you'll have to let us know how it goes in January xxxxx

Well, a dropped pelvis on one side is quite common if that makes it any better

And if one thing is out then others will be out as well as they will be affected through the other joints compensating

I though it wasnt the actual bones they manlipulate but rather the muscles that hold the joint structure, so they contract and extend the muscles so that the joint moves accordingly?

Just think how many owners wouldnt have got the chiro out, at least you noticed

My chiropractor is great and will not leave my horse until she has put everything back where it should be, same with the lady i used to use, so it is quite normal that she has 'just' left you exercises to do. I bet she spent over an hour manipulating her didn't she? Don't feel guilty you have done right by her, many owners don't! Trust your instincts tho, your gut feeling is rarely wrong if its not right when you get back on get straight back on the phone. Hope she feels better soon X

Mmm, don't feel too guilty. She may well have a few sleepless nights ripping people off with such nonsense though......

I think horses are made to make you feel guilty! In fact in my house if its not the horse its the children! You got her seen to and she is now able to make progress so well done! I've just been told by physio that my new horse has hard muscle at top of neck due to years of being worked in false outline with draw reins etc. So now on daily massage, stretching and exercise plan. My house is a bombsite but horse seems very happy!!
