How heavy am I? pics

Wow.. I to cannot (and will not.. lol) believe you are 16st. I honestly thought that when the others were quoting 13st that was way too much.. I had you down for about 10.5-11st, serisouly.

Yes, exactly the same here.

I'm taller than you but if I look the same as you then happy days and s*d it to my weight :D (which is so not going to be revealed on t'internet :p)

I'd have put you as much lighter and on any native type pony 14hh upwards.

I am roughly size 18 (lower half) and 20 (top half)

I have always been fairly 'heavy' even when a lot slimmer and fitter I don't go much below 11.5/12 stone.

Wow, I would NEVER have put you at that!! I'm 5' 6", size 16 and 14st, and I was sat here thinking 'she's definitely smaller than me so I'd ay 11-12st'.

You clearly carry it well because you look completely in proportion! :) (hope that's not offence, you just really don't look that big)

I am amazed that you are 16st! I thought you would be lighter than I am (5'10" & 14st)! You look considerably more toned than I am :o

I am at my heaviest now than I have ever been (can't blame the baby - he's 9months next week - but can blame my Peanut butter/Jam on toast habit :() I am a size 18 on top and a 14/16 on the bottom.

Even at 16st - as an experienced rider why were you not able to have a lesson if they have a 16hh MW ?? IMO a MW should easily carry you.

My LW 16.1hh TB was perfectly happy with my 13st even at 19yo. My LW cob is absolutely unfazed by my 14st now. He is 15.1hh, 5yo and has 10" bone. He doesn't even notice me up there so IMO, a 16hh older, more muscled MW should easily be able to carry 16st of balanced rider.

I have no idea how much you weigh but you are certainly not too big to ride! I would suggest anything MW 15.2 plus?

I think a lot depends on how 'light' someone rides. I have seen some average build riders who just look dead weights and I feel sorry for the horses under them and I have seen larger riders who are light in the seat, balanced and graceful.

i weight 17.7 stone and i ride my 16hh mw sport horse. i had been riding her for year and a half in the riding school and they new how much i weighed. i asked the stable owner who has owned the school for all her life and knows her sh** and she said that i ride like im 10 stone and she had recently told a 15 stone people that she couldnt ride the horse that i now own. my horse never huffs or puff when i ride and can clear 120 jumps with me on her. i just have to remember to go with her and not slump or slam myself into her saddle.

i wouldve guessed you could be anywhere from 12 stone to 15 as i look like you do when i weight between thoses weights and im 5,6.5

this is me on my friends 14.2

I didn't see that thread Brighthair, but I don't go in NL very often.

even when i was a size eight i was 12 stone

i understand why riding schools have weigh limits but i think they should be more flexible

i weigh nearly 12 stone and im a size 10....

looks can be deceiving!

got to remember us riders have probably been doing it for years and have that base of muscle that will never budge, even if we stop for a while!

therefore, we will normally always be heavier than we look!!

Brighthair, do you get the same reaction of people not believing your weight?

Sometimes I find it very tempting to just say I'm 12 & a half stone!

LOL,know the feeling.
Son's riding school know I used to ride and are always nagging me to book myself in which I would love to do-but I am hovering at around 15 stone ATM and their weight limit is 13.
I'm tall(I'm 1.80/5 11) with broad shoulders, big boobs and lots of muscle on my legs so it is assumed I weight less then I know I do.
Not quite sure why you would pretend to weigh more then you do :p

I also think if a RS is going to have a weight limit it needs a set of scales in the office as a persons build can hugely alter our perseption of their weight.
Son looks slim but is 3.5 stone at 5,his dad looked skin and bone when I met him and was 14 stone 8 :o he looked about right at 18 stone and was told by the same 13 stone max RS to come have a go....
