Hey everyone! I hope this is the right forum, i’m a new member haha
I have been riding for 2 years and own two horses, one of which is a 14.3hh Mustang x Arabian mare. I would love to do low level Eventing with her (my goal is at least Beginner Novice) so, i’m wondering how high she could potential jump? My riding instructor thinks she’ll be able to jump at least 3 foot.
Thank you! :)

I don't know about mustangs but I'd say they are similar to other horses, in that ability depends on the individual rather than the breed.

There is no particular difference between a mustang and any other horse. Its down to her particualr confirmation, what she likes doing and her training.

Many years ago a very good SJ'er was teaching a young boy on the yard I was on and the boy (who was the YO's son) was blaming his rather nice new pony for not being "good enough" to jump a 3 ft course. SJ'er said nonsense any sound, fit animal can do this level, its all down to the rider, pick me one and I'll show you. He got on the chosen quiet 14.2 pony from the trekking yard, who wouldn't have jumped more than the odd log for years if ever, and popped it round the course no problem at all.

I leased a mustang for a few months (before his owner moved) and he was a pretty good jumper at 2'6-2'9, but always got a rail if I went higher, but then again, that's one horse, another might make it to 3'. I see that a lot of them lack implosion because most mustangs (in the USA anyway, I don't think western is a common thing in the UK) are trained for western, and they are obviously ridden quite differently, but the horse would probly learn how to collect as I find them quick to learn. A mustang should manage beginner novice. Are you in the USA? I am not familiar with the British Eventing levels, but beginner novice is a USEA level, and I don't think there are to many mustangs in the UK.
