Hi there.
I'd be super grateful if you'd be able to fill in this survey or simply reply if that's easier but I was just wondering about how high your horse can jump, its height, age and gender.
I'm currently doing a peice of coursework for maths and thought what better subject to do it on!
Again, I'd be super grateful if you could take the time to respond, you'd be helping me out big time.

That's the basic information that I need for the coursework but if you can think of any other important factors that may influence the height a horse can jump then I'd love to hear them! :)

It fits in with stats, like the average height of the horse and average height it's able to jump and all that kind of stuff... I thought if I did it on horses I may have a bit more motivation to do it! :P

You can get all sorts of people who may and try to jump their horse when it's still young, really young. So while I don't think that's right, you should give the horse a chance to mature a bit before jumping it, but it's there for those who may still classify their horse as a colt or filly... Unlikely I know but prepared for everything!

A few other variables that may affect the height a horse jumps:

Age of owner
WEIGHT of owner (if you dare ask!)
Whether the yard is primarily an SJ/DR/Eventing yard/or happy hackers

And really, how high have you TRIED to jump - my guess is that most horses don't jump to their limit (I know mine doesn't!).

Good luck, great subject. x

i have only ever jumped her to 1,20 but i know she can jump 1,30 and probs 1.40 but cant prove that one.

so asking what i have jumped her doesnt ask how high she can jump or has jumped

also thats straight up and down show jumps or slight spreads but xc jumps she cant get the distance so can only do medium or novice which ever u choose to call it

ps. fun questions anyway xx wanted more

I've put the highest I've personally jumped him, (4ft, over 1 jump) but I know he can go higher. I've seen him jump well over 5ft (that was without me though :P)

how about how high you jump your horse and how high it jumos on its own?

we have a 14.2hh at work who will jump 3ft 3inch and roll the pole with a rider but jumps 5ft on her own to get to better grazing

Done. I've put the highest he has been jumped so far but i know he is capable of going higher but he is still young so not been pushed as don't want to ruin him.

My 3yo has jumped out of his stable as a yearling and can jump a 5 bar from a standstill.. Seen him do it a couple of times as a 2yo.. I have high hopes for his ridden career, lol..

He is a purebred Cleveland Bay..
