I should really go to bed, but just a quick poll for fun

How high do you jump in competition? I'm not the bravest of jumpers, but I'll jump 85cm no problem and have jumped 90 cm but will only jump 1m if I had to. Also, what's the highest you've ever jumped - not just in competition - but ever! I've jumped 1.30 only because I thought I was jumping smaller (I was tricked by the person putting up the jump!)

Just a bit of fun

Sorry I am terribly old fashioned and cant correspond cm to ft and inches! However I recently took my horse to a XC and had a crashing fall at a 3'6" jump - if I had known it was 3'6" I would never have even attempted it!

As a teenager I used to compete up to Grde C and B&C classes which were 1.30m in the first round going up to 1.40m in the JO, but these days I don't tend to jump bigger than 1.15m/1.20m classes so 1.25m/1.30m in the JO.

At home i'll occasionally jump the top hole of the 1.50m wings...but not often. Usually stick to about 1.25m/1.30m for training purposes.

It's not big and it's not clever jumping huge fences at home unnecessarily...but I guess everyone wants to find out what their horses are capable of occasionally

I don't jump at all at home - ever! Ive got a crappy paddock to ride in so basically the grounds never good enough and I find mine jump better if fresher. They jump almost ever weekend so its not a problem. I also have a monthly SJ lesson.

At competitions - on my grey we're doing 1.10m / 1.15 / 1.20's (depends on the show). On my Welsh D, he's just doing 1m classes.

Who here jumps OVER 1.40 in competition?!

i have jumped 1.40 on my pony, in a chase me charlie comp! but i wud jump anything on my pony - even a course of 1.40m! we mightnt go clear, but we would sure give it a go - he would never say no as he dosent find the height of fences a problem...

now my horse, i havent jumped very high only 1.10m in the field when schooling... we are not there yet to jump any higher as he is still quite green!

I've jumped about 1.20m with Polly, but not for a long time (before my accident). Jumped 4'6 with my pony as a child, playing Ginny Leing with the post and rail fencing round the field. Can't do the metric conversion but I know it was big for us

At the moment I compete at about 2'9 but hopefully will be having a go at the 3' class in the next month or two as our confidence together increases! Want to be doing open HT next April which is usually about 3' to 3'3 round us.

In the past i have cleared about 1.20 in a chase me charlie, but that was one single fence! I have in the past at pony club (years ago!) competed at 1m but unforunatley in the past 8 yrs i've never had a horse that was at the stage where i could go out and compete at 1m or above, when i was in my last year of pony club they wouldn't let me ride in a 1.10 class as they said my pony was too small! It was a pony club event and my pony was 15hh if that! very odd. I'm hoping me and my youngster in the future will have a bash at a decent course but we've got a lot of training and lessons to do before we can think of it!

Sorry don't do modern measurements.

I have jumped 3' 6", long time ago, prefer to jump 6" nowadays.
