How horrendous- daily fail

This was also on another thread. It's so shocking and upsetting to think that any person or animal can be a target for scumbags like this. And what will come of it? If caught, they will get a slap on the wrist and allowed the freedom to do it again. Then what? They will grow into adults and go on to murder other people, no doubt.

Nothing is safe, these days.

Exactly, far too many children these days are getting involved in adult crime, and to be honest if they commit an adult crime they need to be punished as such, may seem harsh but it keeps the little s***s off the streets and teaches them a lesson!! they get away with far too much :( poor horsey

Sorry to say that if this were my horse I'd be waiting for those kids down a dark alley one night with a cricket bat to teach them lesson about karma.

That is horrendous! How could anyone do that?!

Same way someone stabbed my old mare Teasle in the head. Fractured nasal bone, over 100 stitches externally, god knows how many internally and because of stories like this, I actually think she was lucky to have got away with just that.

It's is a deplorable facet of human nature that some people have a switch in their brain that allows them to do this kind of thing. If they can do it to animals, they can do it to people too.

I am fed up of reading of all of the missed opportunities by parents, teachers and authorities to take action early with people that go on to commit horrific crimes. There is always a trail of people who had major concerns but nothing ever done.

When these children are hopefully found, there needs to be a very real method of dealing with it. I know there isn't a court in the land that would incarcerate them for life, but...I do feel that when this level of violence is shown, there should be some method of permanent actio, be it tag/implant, I don't care. Human right go out of the window when a human doesn't know or doesn't care about right or wrong.

If the police had caught the person who stabbed Teasle, I honestly don't know what I'd have done...but as a 16yr old girl, holding my horses head in her lap because she couldn't stand up, something clicked in me that means that I think if I ever saw anyone doing anything like this, I genuinely don't know if I would be able to contain myself. Of course I would not want to commit any violence myself, but I just don't know. It's not anger or sadness...I read these stories and my blood runs cold and my heart turns to stone.

I normally will forgive anyone for anything, but these stories genuinely leave me feeling cold and hard.

Honestly I'm a bit suss, a pony that looks a decent size loose in a field and kids got the better of it?

I know it depends on how old the kids were and if they had hold of the pony but really? most kids I know wouldn't have the strength to do much damage and I'm pretty sure most ponies would either run off or fight back.

I wonder if the kids started something and the pony did react aggressively and it got out of hand, some sort of fluke injury.

of course no excuse at all for that kind of behaviour and I hope they are punished accordingly.

Have to agree with _GG_ I'm afraid. I think the parents need a bit more than "advice" about their children. I just don't know what is wrong with people, there is so much cruelty it seems nowadays. RIP poor horse, you didn't deserve that.

Completely off topic, apologies, I love that pic of your two cats on the stairs JVB, they look gorgeous!

Or it could be the first blow stunned the poor horse so he
Couldn't run off or fight back. If he had fought back you would have thought one or more of the kids would be hurt

This is the second time I have read a story like this in a few weeks! What is wrong with the parents of these little slugs that means they a brought up to behave like this. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to have children.

horrendous!! :(

even if it had been a response to the horse ding something surely the scumbags shouldn't of been in the field in the first place.

even at16 i can see that the handling of children has become beyond wet and soft

I think I'd have a real job standing by and watching someone do this.

I've had a scrap at a show before with someone beating their horse up and many years ago cracked someone round the back of the head with my whip on a yard for going at a horse round its head with a stick.

These kids need a PROPER punishment, not a detention centre with ruddy xbox and play stations! Send the little sods to hard labour. Wonder if countries who have a mandatory amount of time in the forces, like turkey, have problems on such a scale as the UK seems to.

Part of the problem seems to be that there is no shame any more. When a child commits an act of violence, the parents don't seem to mind about it. Some even know their child was involved in a violent crime and lie to the police to keep them out of more trouble... no wonder these kids don't learn! Mummy and daddy will keep them protect them so they can do whatever they want!!

I've always said, and this may seem harsh of me, that if I had a child and found out they were involved in something like this, I would have no problem at all shopping them in. I would be so ashamed and guilty that I hadn't done a better job of teaching my child right from wrong or ensuring they had a good moral compass.

It's not all down to bad parenting though. You have no idea how your child will turn out, after all, and what outside influence they are getting.
