For the past few days my oldie has been found on the wrong side of the electric fencing while his field mate is on the correct side. I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to work out whether he was going under it, through it or over it and moaning to everyone at the yard. Every day I have been fortifying it more with higher posts and more strands. Today, after collapsing the fence yet again to get in him in the right side, he ate his breakfast and then calmly walked behind the field shelter in the small gap between it and the hedge and back into the wrong side again 😂. I confess I uttered a few bad words!

The gap is now barricaded up. 🙄

Oh the sneaky b*gger!
I do make an effort to close even the tiniest gaps with fence line since witnessing their ability to spot them and squeeeeze through!

I used to have the most lovely Shetland who was a complete Houdini. I had 5 lines of tape at one point and still kept finding him on the wrong side. I was poo picking one day and caught the little sh*t putting his nose to the ground, flipping the whole lot over his back with such force that he re-impaled the fence back into the ground, hiding the evidence. I was a mix of furious and full of admiration!

I recently took two ponies to be started, I said the 5 yr old is said was very amenable and easy, cue said pony taking immediate umbridge at being asked to move /do groundwork
The 4 yr old , i said had never had a treat from my hand, she just picked them up and dropped them same with anyone else who tried, 10 minutes into her first session, she was taking and eating treats like a pro 🙄🙄😍😍

I was teaching my husband to out a bridle on. He had been clumsy and the horse was annoyed, hence me standing in to show him (again) how to do it smoothly and safely.

I was holding the bridle and looking/talking to him whilst doing it.

The horse shook his head (as he was annoyed already), caught me, and knocked me clean out. I was laid out for a couple of minutes.

My husband was laughing shortly after, something ironic about preferring how he did it as he thought my smooth and safe method wasn't as good 🤣

I gave up and dug out a hackamore bridle after that. The horse was about 15 years old and they just wanted to go hacking about. Problem sorted!

Oh yes....I once said to someone that I was having difficulty in getting Baggs to pick up a canter lead under saddle. He had all relevant vet checks done, a pro has sat on him and had the same issues, and a friend also sat on him. All checks came back fine and of no concern and was advised to simply keep trying.

Person I was talking to offered to get on board and see what would happen - lo and behold Baggs picks up the canter lead no trouble. I get back on board - hey presto no canter lead problem....... I felt like a right twit.....

My oldie would just walk along pulling out the electric fence posts by the bit you put your foot on to push them in. Oddly he would rarely cross the flattened fence but his pals would.

lol i had 1 that would go through the fencing but would not walk over tape on the ground

My horses have just upped the escape tally to 2 since I told everyone how great they were at not escaping!

This time it was due to a broken gate and off they raced into the vineyard, cue quietly livid father… 🙈
