My pony has come in a few times now with a fairly deep slice to his outside hind leg. How is he managing to cut himself here??? How can I stop this?!

We had a herd of 4 and one of mine was a bit stupidly playful and the farrier reckoned he was treading on the other horse. My friend put back o/reach boots on her horse to prevent it

he’s turned out by himself (but next to others). Happened in field and stable, and different fields too. Had pulled a front over reach boot off today as well so could he be catching himself laying down/getting up? So strange that it’s on the outside!

My horse suffers with mites and will rub her legs on anything she can find which will cause lost shoes and cuts. I would treat with Front Line (dog flea treatment) just to rule it out. If it improves then you can carry on treating regularly with that to keep the itching at bay.
