How is horse weight looking? I am always paranoid that he is too fat. Worked 5-6 days a week schooling, hacking and jumping. Have lesson every 1-2 weeks. He is 17yr old.

First pic was at beginning on winter around october 2010, second pic is around 6 week ago when got to new yard. He had lost a lot of muscle and topline here. Third pic is from today, muscle improving but think he may look a bit fat? Currently having saddle problems do not working as much as usual over ladt 2 week.

Hope they work x

I am no expert at this but i will comment with my opinion :p
I think he looks his best in the first pic. I agree with you his bum muscle is coming back in the latest picture but he does look to have a bit of a grass belly also. i also think his neck muscle has begun to improve but he could do with abit more topline for my liking, obv if you havnt been working that wont help!
A pic from behind his bum would be good to tell you more about his weight.

I agree that he is looking a little tubby. AT least you know he is settling into his new home well though, he looks very contented in the last pic. What are you feeding him on?

Thanks for those comments it confirms what i had thought. Have reduced his feed lately and he now just has half a round scoop of topspec chaff (the molasses free one) with quarter scoop of veteran vitality and cup of balancer. Also has handful of pasture mix but going to take this out once bag has run out.

Has small haynet of haylage at night when he comes in and then good grazing when out in day.

Aww he is such a sweetie pie! I like him in all those pics as i cannot see much difference in him. In the last pic his whither has changed but otherwise just the same. he needs some topline in bottom photo, neck looking knifey.

Still, if i had to choose... 2nd pic is my fave.
