How's his weight looking? I find it very difficult to CC him as I see him every day! Sometimes I look at him and think he's nice and slim, and other times I look at him and think that he still needs to lose a load of weight!

He does need building up muscle wise, but we are slowly working on that :)

He is now weight taping between 430-440kg. He was 460kg a month ago.

Please excuse the dodgy clip that's growing back weirdly :o

Im no expert at all and im sure othrs will pop along soon, but i wouldn't really want any more weight on him :)

Lovely looking lad.

Thank you.

He still has small fat pads behind his shoulders (they were massive before). I started him on MagOx about a month ago but haven't really seen a difference yet. If it is going to help, how long does it take?

"Magnesium is involved in regulating blood sugar levels after carbohydrate intake and deficiency is associated with insulin resistance (symptoms include cresty neck and/or fat deposits)"

My cob has cinnamon in his feed - which is supposed to do roughly the same thing as the MagOx! He hasn't been diagnosed with insulin resistance but does have a crest and fat pads (vet says his fat pads are not typical IR ones). Cinnamon is also supposed to help with weight loss.

That's really interesting, thank you :) I was a bit confused as we'd only ever used MagOx as a calmer, but that sounds interesting.

He looks in super condition though, nice to see cobs who aren't waddling at this time of year!

Is your horse insulin resitant?

Hasn't been diagnosed but I'm treating him like one to be on the safe side.

Thanks, I will look into cinnamon too :)

He's looking good to me, but now the battle really starts! Grass has just started growing like stink down here and it has caught me out a bit.

Mine has been unworked this last week due to illness in the family and has gained a load of weight in just 8 days!

He's now back in his pen for the duration and will be worked as much as possible and weigh taped religeously!

He's also on MagOx, think it does help a bit especially at this time of year.
