can you guys have a look at my advert and tell me if there is anything i can do to make it better?

i bought him as a happy hacker 2 years ago and he really gave me my confidence and we started jumping and doing xc.. which he is fab at.

however is isnt your typcial confidence giver. i had ridden most of my life but just had a few years off, so it didnt take long for me to get my mojo back. he is forward and quick off the leg, likes a prance out hacking but great breaks and never does anything bad. he has a brill jump and is so easy to do, load, shoe etc. However he does need someone resnobly confident. ive had a couple of people out to try him who were used to rs types and soon as they felt him power walk off they held onto his mouth as they thought he was going to take off - which he wouldnt, but it just made him jig about more. i know im not the best rider, but its made me realise he perhaps isnt suitable for a total novice, despite being a confider giver and schoolmaster for me! he has really taught me to ride!

with a total novice he can take the p** a bit at times, eg he will have a 'look' at things and pretend to be scared but leg on and he is absolutely fine. same with jumping. i wen through a phase where he took the mick and stopped with me, but a few lessons with a good instructor and i realised i was dropping the front end. we went on and won several hunter trials and jx comps.and came 3rd in bhs scottish champs... he will try v hard in the school at i have done intro/prelim tests with him, but he is no star dressage horse.his paces are nice and he does shoulder in, leg yeild, turn on the forehand, rein back, but he is built more to jump and he enjoys his jumping and fast hacks more. he's just not quite big enough for me now as i want to have a go at BE... its breaking my heart to sell him, but i just cant keep two. any thoughts? he really is a star, but im not sure im advertising him quite right?

many thanks

I think it's a lovely advert but i don't like the picture i'm afraid.

Other than the age and experience you've just described my connie - he's eactly the same personality wise!

Two things - I don't like the picture at all either also there's a discussion going on in CR which prompts me to ask why is he too small to BE? He's the same size as my little mare, who has done two seasons now and the same size as Little Tiger.

Lovely advert, sounds great. Just the sort of thing I would like, if I were looking for a newie. The picture isnt that clear, thats why I dont like it, but It is nice to show one with XC. I would add all the others as they are much sharper (I think you cab have 4 or 5 with H&H. I like the cantering one the best, not sure if it would be the best one for an advert. Good luck and hope its not too traumatic for you.

the original picture just isnt very clear and makes his neck look a bit strange.

Its a bit long, I think alot of what you have said could be said on the phone to be honest, because you tend to get a bit lost after a while reading it, sounds a lovely horse though, hope you find a nice home.

Thanks, i did wonder that, hmm, i just wanted to get in as much info as poss, but i see what you;re saying...

I think your picture makes him look really strong as he is tucking his head into his chest - the other pictures show what a lovely quality horse he is. I would also have said he has schooled around intro/pn course in your ad as well.

just a thought - but did you contact your local pony club? because I would have thought a horse like yours would have been exactly the type they tend to look for - proven, safe and (lets face it as we all like this) just a little bit flashy!

thank you all, photos should hopefully now have been updated, ive added in the bit about schooling round intro/pn and will now email and ask them to add in i am in angus. lol - they will be sick of me!

im in east lothian and i just put scotland english people phone up and ask you where you are then just put the phone down!!! even though i explained im only 20 mins from the airport so putting your exact location cuts that out

Totally agree about the location thing. For that reason I never ever put where I am from in an advert and tend to use my mobile number as gives me the opportunity to "sell" the horse when someone from the other end of the country calls and realises I'm in Scotland. I do know that some people simply won't travel but then there are people like me who always seem to find the perfect horse or pony hundreds of miles away.

but in svotland we have to travel as we dont see it as a problem!! but i think english people dont want to/have to as they have alot more choice and options
