How is your horses weight coming into spring?

Markie's weightaping at 600kg at the moment and I'm more than happy with that (HW traditional). Now the spring is here, his workload is increasing, hopefully in line with the increase in grass. At the end of September last year, he weightaped at 580kg but that was to get him 'hunting fit' rather than 'show condition'.
A retired sec D on our yard has just come in at 640kg, was 520kg this time last year! Poor owner is unwell, so, another livery has taken over before lami strikes (mare has had it before). It's so difficult when you can't get them working to shift weight.

My TB is a bit plump coming out of winter, it's like mission impossible getting weight on her! Last year she lost weight in the summer on plenty of grass! So coming out of winter carrying weight is fine.

My boy is also quite a bit over, can feel his rubs if you push down, but he is being brought into work this year so hopefully that will bring his weight down. Even on unlimited grass in the summer he's never been a fatty so i'm not too worried!!

He is bigger than I would like. Lives of fresh air and has intermittent lameness so can't work him as hard as he needs really. He is out 24/7 on an eaten down bit of paddock sectioned off from his field mate looking a bit miffed (its an 8 acre field, he would explode if allowed on it all, he is a horsey hoover). I know he has enough to eat but he wants more, I feel mean but its for his own good. I'm trying to get him out walking when I can.
