How is your TB's condition this winter?

Mine is very up and down, sometimes he looks well, other times he looks like he needs more covering, a lot of it depends on how much work he has done that week.

This was him just over a week ago -

He has dropped slightly since then but hopefully it will go back on soon enough, it seems to be a constant roller coaster with him

Please excuse his lack of top line, it is a work in progress......

Hi,

Mine is doing very well, so pleased by how he's looking. He's on fibre beet, Badmington conditioning nuggets and pink powder. He also has ad lib good quality hay at night (while in) and is out on grass with nothing during the day.

My 21 year old looks more like a TB x ID - he has loads of condition - you would never think he had raced. I'm actually dreading the spring grass coming through as it's going to be impossible to get the weight off him! It's the first year I've had him on DIY livery and it's the best he's ever looked since I got him at 12. Just goes to show that when you know what and how much they are being fed and you do it yourself, how much better they can look. Poorly mare still at rehab centre but slowly putting weight on.

I was thinking that about Ollie, I need to get some pics but he has gained weight like no tomorrow! I am dreading turning him out again after 10 weeks box rest lol

Here is my 31yo tb, ive changed her feed this year and she has done really well on it.
She does look very dirty but the more I groomed the worse she looked, im sure she borrowed a coat from a shetland!

Well all our girls an foals live out 24/7 with no rugs and three scoops of feed each a day, hay when we had snow. They all are fat and happy. The pregnant ones are in now but even our 20 year old barrener is looking fab. TB's not all soft!

Tiger is seemingly a little too fit and well at present

Pre-Clipping, just before Christmas

wow keltic, your mare looks amazing for 31!

Mine is also a bit like a roller coaster, some days i look at him and think hmm your looking quite good, and then another day i look at him and he looks a bit ribby and tucked up.

I just keep trying to maintain him as best i can, and eagerly await the spring grass....

I haven't taken any pics but will do this week.
