Just wondered what the latest time at night people would ride and what is considered to be too late?

Our outdoor school is like a swamp at the moment and so in the evenings I can only ride in the indoor school. The indoor school is part of a riding school so I cant use it until the lessons finish which is 9 o'clock. Do people think this is too late to ride?

It would only be for about 1/2 hour.

Well I sometimes work until 8pm and so its often after 9pm before I can ride. I usually ride for 45-60minutes depending on what I'm doing. There are other people at my yard that can only ride late too and we are very lucky that there is no cut off point where the yard shuts.

Not at all, ride when you can! They have 23 other hours to sleep

I ride late. During Winter its usually around 8pm that i get on, if i ride two then i'll start riding the other one just before 9pm. Does wear you out though!

I don't have a school of any kind so have to school on the common in the dark (great fun, honest!). Generally it depends how disgusting the weather is as to how late I can bear being out there. If it's a nice moonlit evening and not p1ssing it down with rain or blowing a gale for a change, I will often be out riding as late as 10 pm - otherwise I'm up at 5 for a hurried ride before work. Roll on spring!

I get to Lou's yard for 7.30 so by time I've ridden him I don't usually get to Eric's yard until gone 9pm to ride - second what tegoz_marianos said: as long as the people who run the yard don't mind I can't see it being a prob

Pony won't mind... it's no different to me dragging mine out of bed at 6am while everyone else is sleeping / eating breakfast.

I think if i rode that late at night though I'd have trouble sleeping - it really wakes me up!

Can't see it being a problem - I have the world's most tolerant YOs who are fine with me turning up very late to ride sometimes in the summer - like 11pm if I've been on site and am competing that weekend! Pony does not care as far as I can tell.
