How late/early would/does your farrier come to do your horses?

It all depends really.

When he comes he does all of the horses on the yard so he makes a full day of it, starting from about 10am up until he is finished.

For lost/loose shoes or hoof related lameness he will pretty much come as soon as he can. He's been here at 9pm and weekends.

Ours comes at 8.30am and does the majority of the yard, another liveries farrier comes at 8 and does it by himself, doesnt need owners just gets on with it!!

pretty much whenever. he only works 3/4 days a week (does up houses the rest of the time) so works round the few clients he has. he often does us after 7 or on a Sunday if thats the only time we can do. and if i need to get the baby home he's happy to finish up and turn them back out for us. I love my farrier :D

Whatever suits our work patterns if he can so early or late! My mare twisted a shoe slightly loose on a saturday so I called him to let him know so he could book in a visit a.s.a.p. the next week but much to my amazement he called back and was there 11 a.m. on the sunday - rather than risk her tearing it off and ruining hoof. Can't ask for better service than that. Thank you Pete G x

Normally 8am so i can get back to work etc to be honest i normally sit in the tack room on my laptops doing emails making sure his cup is kept topped up and biscuits are availible!!

For a lost shoe he will come as soon as he can fit it in...

Mine comes at 8am, but he comes whenever he can fit me in really and is happy to come without me there as he has a partner - which is great. No more waiting for late farriers when you are trying to get to work!

Mine will come at 9am and will work untill 6pm in the summer, in the winter unless you have good lighting he will finish around dusk. He will come out as soon as he can for a lost shoe, he will only come out on a saturday if its an emergency.

Mine has been at 7.15 a couple of times and that is on his way back past from doing a full set at another yard ! So he is an early bird which suits me

My lovely farrier came on a Sunday last time, and has come on a bank holiday before. He only does mine on our yard and it is fairly close to home for him so he often fits us in at the end of his normal day or on a day off as most of his jobs are big yard with lots of horses.

Honestly can't speak highly enough of him, my mare isn't good to shoe and he is very patient and understanding with her and even puts up with the "banter" from the farrier who does the other horses on the yard.

Mine does the school run then wanders into the house and makes tea, then wanders into the forge and fiddles about a bit, then announces that the one he's decided to shoe today is the one I've just turned out into a muddy field because the night before he said he was shoeing a different one :D

In a past life, before I married him, he's been out first thing on Boxing Day to put a shoe back on a horse who lost it on Christmas Eve so it could go hunting. Less chance of that these days lol ;):D

Well as he's the YO's son and YO lives onsite, pretty much whenever we need him :). He does have other clients, but he does try to be flexible and responsive.

My lovely farrier Steve Icke, who tragically died earlier this year, started work as soon as it was light, this suited me perfectly because he would come and shoe my horse first thing in the morning, so I didn't have to take time off work. The new guy, who is very nice, doesn't work those sort of hours, so I have to eat through my vacation time and take a half day when he comes.

i have been first on his round at 6 am and last on his round at 9pm, he has also come out on xmas eve and NYE as emergencies for me - I love my farrier.
