How long are you turning your horses out for in this weather?

All out lot are out 24/7 with rugs and lots of haylage.

From chunky Ronnie to grumpy TB Mariner!

I turned all ours out 24/7 a few weeks ago when the yard was starting to get icy. They are all really happy out so they can stay out until it thaws. I'm so glad I took the plunge and put them out, they would be going stir crazy if they'd been in all this time.

She will be going out from 9 tomorrow with hay, will bring in about 2/3pm. She did not go out today but did not care, she just ran back in her stable for her dinner once I had her stable all ready, she did not attempt to walk off out and she could have done but did not want to!

if they are going out, they HAVE to go out at 7.30am as i have to be at work for 8.30am!
usually they are out till 2.30/3pm ish but last few days have been comming in at 1pm as bored by then, even though they have masses of haylage.

As per usual. 7.30 - 3.30/4.00
Most other horses locally are out. If we can't ride then at least they can stretch their legs in the field.
Lace is never cold in her rugs and has a pile of hay but she much prefers to dig down to get at the grass.

same as normal. the ones that are out are out 24/7. the half and halfs go out at 8.30 and in around 4 to 4.30 ish! hay in fields and waters checked am lunch and pm.

Mine has been in since wednesday. Main reason being that I pay my YO to turnout in the morning on weekdays and for safety she hasnt been. A few liveries turned their own horses out today for a couple hours apparently so i'm going to turnout about 10ish for 2-3hrs I think. See how she gets on and if she is bored out there.

My two are normally turned out all day, but since the snow/ice, they are predominately stabled. They get 2 hrs turn out in the morning, in for hay at lunchtime, and then back out for another 2 hrs in the afternoon. They have happily settled into this routine and are asking to come in if I leave them out any longer. Bless them - they have been as good as gold, especially considering they have gone from hunting fit to virtual box rest....

All out! 2 out 24/7 and the fully clipped ones in at night but out from between 6:30 and 8:30am til about 5:30pm. They're not that keen to come in either!!!
