How long did it take you to find your Horse?

Took me a month of horse hunting to find my current horse. I think budget is a big factor. Its harder to find a quality horse if you have a small budget and takes longer to look and find the special ones.

B - Almost a year which included 1 false start with a gelding who disliked me almost as much as I ended up disliking him.

L was chosen for me. I outgrew pony and was told you will buy L. I didn't like her but another girl came to veiw while I was there and hit her. I knew she had previously been battered so that was it, I bought her. I am now terrified of being without her but at 31 and ill it may not be long.

S was my livery for a few months then my housemate bought her, after 3 years she quit horses for a bit and I have her on loan with veiw to buy, took about 4 years to decide I want her!!

(And I won't even ride her much, she is Sharer's horse really but B adores her, L is not looking like going much longer and B will be terrified and miserable alone but dislikes new people and horses, I is for sale and I am planning a family, I could lead S up the motorway with a piece of baler twine despite her size so will be able to handle her when I'm pregnant plus Sharer will then help with B when I am big. Sharer will go to uni eventually and I'll get more S time. Simples!!)

I was helping a friend look I wasn't looking personally. The first yard we went to was a warmblood dealer the first stable we went up to .... we looked in and I wanted him from that moment. The only trouble then was getting the money. :)
He was worth it.

Didn't take me long, about a week after I started looking. I knew the moment I saw his picture I wanted him. He wasn't the size I wanted but it didn't matter he could have been a fire breathing monster when I met him but I fell in love from the first picture on the website!!

I also fell in love with my cobs website pic!! Knew he was for me. I think I'd been looking for about 6 weeks (see my avatar)

Jake i started looking in november 2010 and found him on the 12th april 2011 :0)

Larry i had a horse before him and never got on with her so i had to send her back :0( but then a week later stumbled over Larry it was love at first sight!!

5 minutes, unintentionally. Trawling horse sites as usual one evening. Saw beautiful kind face on an ad. Realised he was 5 minutes from my house. Phoned up. Went down with daughters. Bought horse. Crazy? Yep. Regrets? None! :)

A few weeks :) my mum decided she waned to get me a horse, so I wanted a coloured cob. I especially didn't want a tb, or Arab. And DEFINATELY didn't want a brown one!! I ended up seeing an advert for a tb x Arab, bay, but she was so beautiful I rang up and arranged a viewing. Saw her, loved her, put a deposit down and brought her home a few days later :) she's definately got a home for life :D

Nearly didn't go to see Monty as wasn't really what I was looking for on paper... but I went to see him anyways as a horse I'd planned to see on that particular day had been sold the night before. So I decided he was worth the trip to view as a 'warm-up' for seeing more serious contenders, if nothing else. He was the first one I saw and I fell in love... went to see a few others but I think I had already decided I wanted Monty, so two days later I rang his owner back and arranged a trial with view to buy (and subject to vetting). So all in all from seeing his ad to the call to say "I want him!" it was about 4 days :D

6 minutes :D

decided i wanted another horse after 2 nutty horses then 2 years off riding etc.- viewed 1 totally unsuitable - then found this "warmblood x" at a good price so went to view her

got my friend to video my ride on her - watched the ride back and at around 6 minutes of the vid i said "can i have this one?" :D i carried on riding for a few more minutes then stopped, got off, and offered the full asking price :D

24 hours later she was on my yard and shes never going anywhere :)
