How long did you horse ride for before getting a horse?

Started riding when i was 3 up until the age of 12 at local riding schools, my parents said that i had to show them that i was dedicated (so i was) for 9 years. then they brought me my 1st pony that was soo naughty and went from there, they got naughtier and i became better rider now i have well behaved horses :) as the grand age of 22 lol x
 
Started riding religiously when I was 10, am now 22 and still horseless.

However I have shared and loaned many horses over the years, been paid to ride other people's horses, ridden many different types of horse in previous jobs etc....and I think it has helped me to really think about what type of horse I want in the future (hopefully in the next couple of years!).

P.S. I would go with the riding instructors advice to get some more riding lessons/get you back into the swing of it and go from there :)
