and/or how many times would you try to contact a business before deciding to move on because they're not coming back to you?

This past fortnight I've left two voicemails at one place and then sent a message in case their phone answering service isn't working. Sent messages via two different methods (website form and messenger) to another, and no reply from either. I wouldnt be offended if they said no, but maybe people only get back to you if they want your business now? And just leave you dangling if they don't?

Kind of nostalgic for the old days when people used to answer the phone!

If they are that bad at replying to your initial enquiry, it makes you wonder how good they'll be at getting back to you if they take your request.

I would send a final email etc along the lines of ‘I’m disappointed that you didn’t have the good manners to reply to me, and have taken my business elsewhere, no need to reply.’

Depends on the business.

I messaged a horse dentist, and left a voicemail.
It took her nearly 2 weeks to reply as she's very busy.

A lot of businesses are actually just one person doing everything and it can take time to work through everything.

Well the one that I left voicemails for has responded to my messenger message - they're away on holiday so not picking up the phone, so that explains that one! A FB or website update wouldn't have gone amiss though. I'm still holding my breath about the other one. It's not just those two though, it seems to happen all the time these days.
