As stated really. Just wondering if the amount of time my two year old JRTs sleep for is normal?
How long do your dogs sleep for?

My JRT sleeps for hours! He goes from 8pm to 8 am and sleeps during the day if he can!
The collie and the lab not so much but they are much more active so sleep as soon as they come indoors for the night.

You see mine seem to sleep for nearly 22 hours a day. They sleep with my daughter in her bed (I know I know) and she sleeps from midnight to as long as she can in the morning sometimes 12.
They come down go out for bit then go back on the sofa and sleep.
We take them out for at least an hour and then they come in and sleep.
I honestly believe that if we didn't take them places they would happily sleep on the sofa all day.
They rarely have loony moments anymore rushing around fighting each other.
It's not that they are not happy - they are blissfully happy from what I can see and are nicely muscled - but my do they sleep.

As much as they can. Probably about 20 hours a day. They are lurchers though.

I am sure I read somewhere that dogs sleep whenever there is inactivity to reserve energy for hunting when needed (please correct me if thats wrong) - however this doesn't apply to my spaniel!

Henry only sleeps after he has done something Very Bad...regaining energy ready for the next Very Bad Deed.

Sweep sleeps as much as he can squeeze in to his day!!
When I am not home he sleeps (only wakes up to get chew from postie!
) and when I'm at home he sleeps with one eye open as he has to follow me when I move - well he is a spaniel.....

Maybe it is a JRT thing. P sleeps lots as well (if nothing is going on).

My JRT sleeps from 5pm til 11am the next morning when I go up the field to my horse. Its like he just goes into suspended animation until there is a chance of another walk. When he is on his walk or up the field he runs and runs and runs then on getting home has his 3-4 chicken wings and Bakers Complete and crashes out.
